Don't suppose there's a chance season two will be a visual re-reboot.

I don't think there's been enough discussion on the internet about Discovery's visual design choices.
We've gone throught it to death.

Pro-Discovery aesthetic side: Discovery is the best looking sci-fi thing ever and the 60s and colours beyond blue and orange are awful in every way and nobody would watch a show that had anything resembling a updated TOS look and colour because colour and anything beyond non-generic modern sci-fi design copied from a video game is a visual anathema to younger audiences.

Pro-Setting/Era aesthetic side: They could have just updated the visuals to look more modern and sleek while keeping the core design philosophy and colour palette of the era. Mid 20th century design is still considered very sleek and fashionable even till this day.

Frankly there isn't much really to talk about Discovery's visuals, they're awful and they clearly just took Mass Effect and slightly modified Mass Effects visual design and fit it in Discovery because they think young people are idiots and won't accept anything that doesn't look like a Xbox360 game.

Depends on where the producers decide to go with season two.

One thing certain: Change is inetivable. TNG didn't stick with those spandex uniforms for all seven seasons. Enterprise didn't stick with its initial color palate. I doubt the makers of Discovery will resist tinkering their show down the road.

All of the Trek series have made visual and tonal changes as they went along, some more drastically than others. I'd imagine DSC will do the same, but a full visual redesign? Not happening.

The only visual reboot we're getting for Season 2 is the inside of the Enterprise. It's just a matter of how much.

And that's assuming we see the inside of the Enterprise. S2 could begin with the E flying away and our characters discussing what went on.

They plan on showing some of the Enterprise crew according to Alex Kurtzman, but he wouldn't confirm if they're making interiors.

He said if they make interiors for the Enterprise they will look familiar to TOS watchers, but obviously not 1:1.

Engineering I reckon. Maybe a crew room and a corridor. Maybe.
