Don Keefer R.I.P.

Grant

Commodore
Commodore
Don Keefer who played "Cromwell" in "Assignment: Earth" has died aged 98.

Best known to genre fans as "Dan Hollis" who fortified by some brandy was the only person in town who had the guts to suggest that "somebody bring something heavy down..." on Billy Mumy's character's head in the TLZ episode "A Good Life"---while he was concentrating on him---but all he got for his trouble was to be turned into a "Jack-in-the-box"
Horrible image!

I've seen it a dozen times and every time I wish one of those gutless town-folk would do what poor Dan Hollis suggested but they never did/do.

Guy acted for nearly 60 years and his last appearance was in "Liar-Liar" as the beggar who asks Jim Carrey for a handout.

Rest In Peace-- vintage TV was better for having you.

Could somebody post a picture of him in Assignment: Earth so that we can all recognize who he is?

RIP.

I think he may be my all-time favorite Gunsmoke weasel. Especially the episode where he invited a man he mistakenly thought was a wanted outlaw to sit down at his table for dinner and then shot him in the back for the reward. And then claimed to everyone in town that he'd killed the man in a fair, straight-up gunfight. :D
