Dominion war

Carpathia86

Lieutenant

Greetings, all!

I've recently decided to go through all episodes of each series detailing the backstory of the Dominion war, starting with TNG's The Wounded (introducing the Cardassians and the beginnings of the Maquis, etc), and ending with DS9's "What You Leave Behind." I've never realized just how intricate the whole story is.

I haven't really got started on any of this as of yet! I'm way behind on my DS9 watching, sadly!

Can't see how any of the TNG episodes are anything to do with the Dominion? The Cardassians may have been in them agreed, but Cardassia only joined the Dominion much later in the series! You might as well count every Klingon and Romulan episode as well because they fought against the invasion too!
JB

The TNG episodes set up all of DS9 early seasons with Cardassians and Maqui

The Dominion War overlapped with the Maqui story line

The Cardassians and the Maquis, yes, but the Dominion are a different set of characters from the start!
JB

Starfleet was also heavily involved in the war...best to start with "The Cage".
It'll help you get the reference when Sisko is awarded the Christopher Pike Medal of Valour or whatever it's called. Also need to check out The Menagerie to understand why Pike has a bravery medal named after him.

Cardassians are really DS9 and very Dominion War. Klingons, Romulans, if you know Trek at all, you know them already. The story of the Cardassians is the story of the Dominion War is the story of DS9.
