I did like that Echo was programmed to be a character from the book he was teaching. That was kind of original.

Careful: saying bad things about the Wife of Bath is a good way to get angry Chaucerians to start hurling barely-comprehensible insults your way. Kiki =! Alisoun. The former is a naive airhead, the latter a wordly and sharp-witted woman.

I'm not familiar with the book, I was just going by the episode. It seemed like that was the intent.

No, I wouldn't think so--particularly since whoever actually wrote the dialogue for that episode actually seemed to know The Canterbury Tales, at least at an introductory level. The main reason why people fixate on the Wife of Bath is because she's a rare example of a independant, empowered woman at a time when most were considered chattel; the reverse is true when it comes to Dolls, and even Kiki as a character, who is the type of woman Alisoun would likely deride. No, I'd say that this was a prof acting out a fantasy of seducing someone via literature, making her an exagerrated airhead perhaps as a way of 'getting back' against some of the more frustratingly dense students he's had to deal with.

I find it interesting that apparently there was a layer in this episode I completely missed. I'm only familiar with The Canterbery Tales in a name only type way. I admit I didn't read it closely my junior year of H.S., did the Cliff Notes method on that one. I've enjoyed reading the commentary on the loose ties embeded in this episode.
Thanks for bringing that up guys/gals!:techman:
