Doing this Picard Series in real time passage since Nemesis best idea

A few years ago, right not long before Discovery was announce, I posted the best thing someone can do for Star Trek is something that is in real time passage since the events of Star Trek Nemesis, in the late 24th Century. It will draw the biggest amount of viewers and have the material available for a great plots. Star Trek Picard proves this point.

I am not saying Star Trek Discovery or all the other Star Trek shows were great. I am looking forward to season 3. However what is going on with Picard brings so much meaning to those of us that were inspired from Star Trek The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager. There is all this talk about bringing in characters from these shows, Please.. MAKE IT SO.....

No offense, but you were hardly the only person to think this.

I mean, Star Trek is hardly the first entertainment property to be like, "Hey these Gen Xers have lots of money and a huge preoccupation with nostalgia from their childhoods, let's capitalize on that!" But unlike, say, Fuller House, Picard doesn't suck donkey balls - and it very well could've, lots of these reboot/rework type shows and movies are total flops.

I hate prequels. I didn't necessarily need to be back in the 24th century but I definitely never wanted to go back to before Kirk. If Discovery wasn't such a dumpster fire it might be interesting to see what they do with Season 3.
But Picard is just another prequel. Discovery season 3 is the present of Trek, 9 whole centuries after Picard.
