Does anyone see a pattern here? (Nip/Tuck)

From Season 5 to now, Christian has been reconnecting with past loves and forming relationships with them that ulimately fall apart. First it was Julia. Then it was Liz, though their relationship was more complicated by their friendship, history, and Liz's sexuality. And now it's Kimber, whose relationship with Christian I predict will come to a miserable end like all the others in next week's episode (Won't see me shedding any tears :)).

Do you think this is Ryan Murphy's way of trying to to wrap up loose ends in the Christian department for viewes who have asked questions like "What if Christian and Julia got together?" "Does Christain and Liz have a chance of becoming something more than friends?" and "Are Christian and Kimber destined to be together?"

It would have been nice if you had put a spoiler-code on. I have only seen seasons 1- 5 so far and what you wrote revealed more than I wanted to know.

But to answer your question:
I don't think Ryan Murphy is trying to wrap up loose ends, but I do think there is a pattern. Christian is a character who is deeply disturbed and who is incapable of having a long lasting relationship, because of some serious shit that happened to him as a child. He tries to compensate that with sex and whatever else makes him happy, e.g. cars.
But deep down he probably knows how shallow his life is, so he tries to make more out of it. That's when the audience sees him struggling and trying and struggling and trying some more to build up a proper relationship. In the end he fails, of course, because his shallow life promises a greater (and more importantly quicker) amount of happiness. For Christian, Sex is his drug to escape everything else, while staying in a relationship means hard work. He always chooses the quick and easy way out, that's why there is a pattern. And I don't think that's gonna change because Christian is written that way. Which is a pity. I think he is a bit too static.

I never watch a little. how about that movie.
