I found this, and it looks spanking new. Anyone participated in any of their events? (I think I saw Robert Hauglin at Quark's this weekend.)

God I hope the plans for the Cafe/Bar are for real!

PRESS RELEASE
Las Vegas, Nevada, August 11, 2008-- The Sci-Fi Cafe Restaurant and Bar claims to have opened 'a wormhole to another universe'. Their enterprise (no pun intended) is based on the original universe created in the book: Barrier Breaker and promises to deliver a unique experience to science fiction fans of all genres who are looking for sci-fi theme entertainment. The Sci-Fi Cafe is hosting regular, monthly events in Las Vegas. Upcoming is a Dinner Extravaganza on September 17th and a Halloween Ball on October 31st.

“People don’t realize how many science fiction fans are out there. There is a great demand for sci-fi themed entertainment.” says Suzanne Hauglin, one of the developing partners of The Sci-Fi Cafe. “Contrary to popular belief, most sci-fi fans are sophisticated professionals looking for high quality productions. We want to provide that.”

Among the events planned for next year is the highly anticipated, filmed event: “Chef of the Future Challenge” which will showcase the futuristic, innovative food artistry of talented, upcoming, local chefs.

For the many science fiction fans that are grieving the impending closure of The Star Trek Experience and Quark’s Restaurant, there is hope on the horizon for a new place to congregate.

“In addition to the restaurant and bar, we will have meeting rooms, costumed aliens to take photos with, a gift shop, an ‘alien zoo’ and a free-to-the-public museum called A Century of Science Fiction Collectibles. People can bring their families and enjoy live music on the weekends. We will also have an after hours night club and host concerts.” says Robert Hauglin another developing partner.

More information on The Sci-Fi Cafe and their upcoming events can be found on their website at: thescificafe.com

I found the website for this place a month ago, but haven't found any more information. Like, apparently, where they're located.

I was hoping it wasn't just me. But they do have addresses for the events that are at different locations.

I guess they are still raising funds in order to get a location. More power to them!
