Does anyone else like Cathexis

Last night I wanted to watch an episode of Voyager I haven't seen in a while and the first one that came to mind was Cathexis. I know it's generally regarded as a not so very good episode, but I was wondering if there was anyone else who liked it. For me, I'd place it in the "Masks" category in that I actually thought the plot (Given the other episodes with the same plot, like DS9's The Passenger) was pretty good and I find it really enjoyable. I liked the idea of exploring Chakotay's heritage too with the Wheel, even though I wish it would have been brought back, and yes it was useless, but it did start one of the better holodeck programs on the series with Janeway's holonoval. It could get a little repetitive with the "Maybe you were influnced at that time" thing, but the plot itself was fun.

I do. I have always included among my favorites written by Brannon Braga and Joe Menosky. It isn't deep--just a fun bodysnatcher type story with a lot of nice twists and turns. Brannon is always good with atmosphere and I loved how they worked the medicine wheel into the end.

A good, somewhat spooky and exciting story with some good and unexpected twists and turns. OK, we have had that "alien takes over crewmember" before but so what. It's and exciting episode!


I'll give it 4 points out of 5.

You know I liked Cathexis as well. I thought the plot was rather interesting and I loved Chakotay's heritage being explored with that medicine wheel. The acting could have been better, but all in all the show as not as bad as people made it to be. It's not my favorite episode of the show, but it's not in the bad list by any means. It's not nearly as bad as "The Fight".

This is a little off the topic of the ep Cathexis, but I was watching Voy one night and decided to watch "The Fight" again..I was able to understand why alot of posters here despised that episode so much. The acting was off the wall!

I like it. Not one of the series' finest, but just a decent, fun episode that's ever-so-slightly creepy. Especially when they're in the meeting and Harry suddenly goes silent...

Not to mention the cool moment where Tuvok stuns everyone with one phaser burst.
