Does Abramsverse Kirk know things about the Prime trekverse?

I was thinking about something. If he had a mind meld with Prime Spock, then doesn't this mean he will have some of his memories beyond the stuff with Nero that we saw? This could be a intresting angle to play for drama. What if he meets Carol Marucs for the first time only he knows from Spock's memories that he and her were in love once and had a child. Would he feel sad over David's death even though in theory he isn't even his son?

The slash-fic writers are already all over that possibility... some of them seem to think that Prime Spock essentially unloaded his entire life into new-Kirk's brain, including memories of... um, a lifetime of hot sex.

Mind melds do not work that way.

They're like a forced upload/download. In this case, Spock simply uploaded the information he wanted Kirk to have.

Kirk, not being Vulcan or familliar with mind-melds, wouldn't even know how to begin to break through Spock Prime's "upload" and begin his own download of Spock's other memories.

Kirk'd only have the knowledge of the 24c that Spock wanted him to have.
