Documentary Now on IFC

Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, & Seth Meyers produce this half hour series of mocumentaries on IFC, that I 'd been enjoying pretty well in its 1st three episodes, Sandy Passage, The Eye Doesn't Lie, & Dronez: The Hunt for El Chingon, but I was absolutely stunned by crippling laughter over the latest one I've seen, Kunuk Uncovered. Perhaps it's because I'm a little more familiar with the source material they are mocking, of the 1922 film Nanook of the North & its 1990 follow-up, inside look into the film, Nanook Revisited, than I am with the other mockups' sources, but this one left me feeling that I had just seen quite possibly the best mocumentary ever

The level of detail in this show is outstanding, & this episode in particular is just fantastic. If this show doesn't win & Emmy or several, there's a major injustice going on. This thing was a parody on a documentary exposé of another documentary. It left my brain numb. :guffaw:

I'm hoping that they don't get blasted online for this by many bloggers, and it's understood that this is a satire.

Agreed, and thank you for bringing this to my attention! I'm watching Kunuk right now and loving every second, brilliant show. The last scene of the first episode was seriously chilling, that was some Blair Witch shit.

The Al Capone one wasn't that funny. It was just weird.

Looking forward to the music one.
