Doctor Who coming to HBO Max in 2020

Hadn't heard this mentioned elsewhere. I guess more ways to access DW in the US is a good thing.

On Thursday, WarnerMedia announced that all British cult favorite "Doctor Who" will be available on the streaming service when it launches in spring 2020. (CNN's parent company is WarnerMedia.)

The deal will give HBO Max subscribers access to 11 seasons of "Doctor Who," beginning with the Ninth Doctor episodes that premiered in 2005.

The addition of "Doctor Who" to the HBO Max library is part of a larger, long-term deal the service has made with BBC Studios.

I wonder what this means for Amazon Prime? Supposedly it left Netflix and Hulu because Amazon would only take it if it was exclusive so they through money at them.

Maybe its contract with BBC Studios is up and Warner stepped in with more cash.

Big mistake. HBO max?? They should have went back to Netflix. Too many streaming apps out now to get them all as they add up. I'm satisfied watching classic who on Pluto tv, and I have my DVDs of the new stuff. So I'll pass on HBO max. CBS all access, and Disney are all going to have a difficult time too in the future. Its a money loser. With soooo many streaming services out there, eventually that viewership pie gets smaller as the field gets more diverse, too many paid subscriptions, too expensive. I predict they will coelless into a handful of services one day, and that pool will allow for big budget content. Smaller audiences on platforms seems like a loser given production costs for such a smaller bit of the proverbial pie. People will gravitate to those services and platforms like Hulu, A-Prime, and Netflix and those pay wall platforms will suffer. They all give this excuse of in 5 years we will start to get our investment back... But I think that os highly unlikely. I didnt get CBSAA just because it had one or two shows I liked on it. Tho initially I wanted to see STD. I cancelled my Sub after. And decided to watch S2 ahem...on the Free so to speak from my laptop. So, I'm kinda happy sticking to the services I have already. All told, 130.00 per month is all I pay total for entertainment. Thats High speed Streaming net, Hulu and Netflix with tons of free streaming channels via ROKU. I'm quite satisfied being there. I'm saving about 80 bucks from cable. So its worth it. Don't need DC, CBS, Amazon Prime, Sling, or any of the other Pay wall apps.
