I guess I'd be amused, if I only knew who Lenny Henry is...

SIR Lenny Henry. OBE. I actually didn’t know he was knighted. :P

Among things, this comedian founded Comic Relief (the source of this cameo and a dozen other Doctor Who appearances on the event over the years, including the infamous Rowan Atkinson edition) in 1985. He is arguably the most prominent black British actor of the previous century, the equivalent of Eddie Murphy or Chris Rock in their day.

Pretty much any living British person will know him, love him or hate him. I’m Canadian, so I knew of him plenty but mostly through other shows. Many of us saw him recently as the elder not-Hobbit in the recent “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” on Amazon.

Didn't they release a pick of Ncuti wearing something like that leather jacket?

They sure didn't. This was an unofficial set photo.

It remains to be seen if this is a replacement for the costume that debuted in the officially-released pictures, just a one-off costume, or something else. I like the unconfirmed outfit better, but it's totally possible it's a deliberate nod to the Lenny Henry outfit. Also, Gatwa has a rather fabulous taste in wardrobe to begin with, so who knows if his Doctor will be switching things up regularly.

That is our payback for having a actor playing the upcoming toy maker who i have never heard of before.....Check and mate!

Of course i have not seen or watched any Uk terrestrial tv since 2014 when i tore my ariel out and went fully streaming services, so i do not even know most the the newish Uk actors at this point. lol
