And now... after a few weeks of some of our favorite Classic Whovian hat-wearers showing off their favorite chapeaux... it's time to vote for the overall Favorite Classic Whovian Hat.

I will be grouping the entries in the order they were submitted (will keep everyone's entries together for the sake of organization):

I put on my voting hat.
Just out of curiosity, @ Timewalker, is there a specific reason you don't allow GIFs in your contests? One of my favorite things about these avatar contests is all of the GIFs people find, it's kinda boring when it's all just still pictures.

I realize that some folks from years ago will remember that I used to have an animated avatar (the tractor beam smiley) and may wonder if I've become a hypocrite about this issue. But the truth is that over the years I've found that I've had increasing visual perception issues with fast and jerky images.

It's why I have trouble watching most modern action/genre movies (there's too much motion all happening at once and I can't process it), and it's why I try to ignore most animated avatars. I can't process the images correctly, and it causes dizziness and disorientation.

You might have noticed that I don't enter animated avatars, and if a contest has all-animated entries I just tend to skip over even looking at it. I see a thread full of dizzying images that won't stay still long to see what they actually should look like, so it's easier to just not look.

It's a visual sensory overload kind of thing, and so when it's my turn to host a contest and deal with a page full of avatars, I would appreciate not having to worry about whether or not I can look at them for long periods of time, since it's part of the host's job to present them in a nice, organized way for voting.

I'm very pleased with the entries for this contest, btw. There are lots of reminders of classic stories I haven't seen (or read the novelized version) in a long time.

And... we have a 7-way tie for first: 4 of mine got 2 votes and 3 of Orac's got 2 votes. The rest either got 1 or 0 votes.

How should we handle this?
