Doctor who actors in Star Wars

Chris227

Lieutenant Commander
This is similar to the threads about the Bond girls and I, Claudius.

The studio work for the first four Star Wars films was done in England, so it's not all that suprising that there's a lot of actors switching over.

Here's a few I can think of:

Peter Cushing-Played the non-canonical "Dr.Who" in the Dalek movies, but known in Star Wars as the secondary villain of A New Hope, Grand Moff Tarkin

David Prowse-The 'body' of Darth Vader in the OT, played the Minotaur in THE TIME MONSTER.

George Rubicek-Commander Praji, who reports to Darth Vader about the escape pods, was Captain Hopper in TOMB OF THE CYBERMEN.

Michael Sheard-The ill-fated Admiral Ozzel in ESB, appeared on WHO a number of times, most notably in PYRAMID OF MARS as Lawrence Scarman.

Jeremy Bulloch-Three different roles in Star Wars, but most famously the 'body' of OT Boba Fett, played Hal the Archer in THE TIME WARRIOR and another role in THE SPACE MUSEUM.

Hugh Quarshie-The skeptical Captain Panaka in TPM, also played Solomon in DALEKS IN MANHATTEN/EVOLUTION OF THE DALEKS

Deep Roy-Played the live version of Mr.Sin in TALONS OF WENG-CHIANG, and a delegate in TRIAL OF A TIME LORD: MINDWARP Appeared as one of the band in Jabba's palace in RETURN OF THE JEDI.

I'm sure I'm missing a few....any thoughts/contributions?

Julian Glover (General Veers) turned up as youngish nobleman in either the Hartnell or Troughton eras.

Julian Glover was also Scaroth in "City of Death".

Brian Blessed was King Yrcanos in "Trial of a Time Lord"

Also,

Leslie Schofield (one of the Death Star Commanders round the big table) was in "Face of Evil"

Don "Bulman" Henderson who played General Taggi was in "Delta and the Bannermen"

Brian Blessed was the voice of Boss Nass in Ep. 1

Series 1 regular monster Alan Ruscoe was in The Phantom Menace

Voice of the Ood Silas Carson had several roles in the prequel trilogy.

who else (I've met some of them)

Garrick Hagon... Biggs was in the Mutants.
as was John 'Lobot' Hollis, and Laurie Goode

Peter Diamond was the Tuskian Raider, acted in the Romans and heavily invloved in stunt work for both

Alan Harris was one of the bounty hunters and an extra on Who
Richard Bonehill had a few roles in both

Dalek opperator Cy Town donned a Stormtrooper costume in Jedi, but not Star Wars despite what IMDB says!

Milton Johns was an Officer in Empire, and in 3 Whos.

Peter Cushing-Played the non-canonical "Dr.Who" in the Dalek movies, but known in Star Wars as the secondary villain of A New Hope, Grand Moff Tarkin

Funnily enough, when pics from Ep III first began to appear online, aintitcoolnews reported that the actor playing Tarkin at the end of the movie (in the scene with Vader and the Emperor) was (a pre-DW) Christopher Eccleston. It wasn't, it was actually Wayne Pygram from Farscape. However, when CE was cast as The Doctor, the coincidence always amused me. Then again, I'm easily amused.

Don't forget about Declan Mulholland, he was in The Androids Of Tara and The Sea Devils, he was original actor for Jabba the Hutt.

There's Maurice Roeves, who played a Romulan in 'The Chase' and Stotz in 'The Caves of Androzani'.

Simon Pegg of course. Guy Siner was in 'Genesis of the Daleks' and some god-awful Enterprise episode.

And probably some more...

Edit - also Alan Dale, Barrie Ingham, Christopher Neame, John Franklyn-Robbins, Olaf Pooley and Daphne Ashbrook.

I found that list here.
