Do you wear your wedding ring?

Do you wear your wedding ring

I'm not married, but my parents have been married for 25 years. My dad not only doesn't wear his wedding ring, he never had one to begin with.

Just to clarify from the other thread, I'm not disputing that some married people don't wear their wedding rings. I was just unaware that it was specifically common in the UK.

I wear the wedding rings of my victims.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I can see some flashing lights and armed men in tactical gear outside my house.

I always wear my wedding ring. Haven't taken it off since the day Mrs.Q2 put it on my finger.

I wear my wedding ring all the time, though right now, I'm wearing my "fat" ring. Yeah, I gained enough weight that my rings don't fit, and they are thin bands, so sizing them up really isn't an option. So we bought an inexpensive gold band in a larger size, and I wear that. For now. I'm working on losing enough weight to wear my actual wedding rings by my birthday.

DH goes in cycles with his ring. Right now, he's not wearing it. It's in my jewelry box.

I wear my wedding ring every day, but I take it off at night, and don't put it back on until after my morning shower.

Otherwise, you get a nasty, gunky build-up from the soap and shampoo.

Mine is a simple gold band and the only time I've had it off in ten years is when they made me take it off when I was in the hospital for a minor operation. Getting it off was quite a struggle.

My wife wears a similar wedding band but rarely wears her diamond engagement ring, which we both agree I should never have bought.

I find these results shocking, I know many people who are married but don't wear their ring.
I guess Trekkies are just old fashioned. ;)

Either that, or we're so stunned someone actually agreed to marry us, we want the world to know. Particularly, that she's not imaginary.

If I get married someday I would like to wear the ring, but rings look really bad on my hands. I thought about getting a graduation ring for my MSc, but I dropped it for the same reason. Maybe something not gold. I'm playing with the idea of a stainless steel ring.

interesting results so far (although about what I expected to see). I AM curious to see if there is any sort of regional thing to it, though. Expect that it's pretty customary in most Western cultures, but we'll see.

I'm engaged, but not yet married. Not a ring or jewelry guy myself, but imagine that I'll wear it, at least most of the time. Probably in the crowd that will take it off for sleeping and bathing, though. And i'll likely be getting a platinum one to match the fiance's engagement ring (and her wedding ring, which I had to buy as a set because of the unique look/shape of the engagement ring), so I'll probably remove it a lot when I'm doing projects around the house and garage to avoid damaging it or getting shit all over it...

I've also teased her that instead of buying an expensive one, i may buy a dozen cheap titanium ones instead, so I can swap them out when i damage or lose one :p

It doesn't seem to be either one way or the other in Scotland. As many men don't wear wedding rings as do. My sisters' husbands never had wedding rings. My father always wears his. My brother's divorced but I don't think he wore one.

I've worn mine for almost 17 years - since the day my wife and I got married. It has never been off, and never will be unless I'm unable to stop the person who is removing it.
