Do you wanna see "Haywire"???

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral

You know, I always thought films where a hot chick beats up guys were cool... yeah, most guys think so as well, but for this film, it looks literally like that's all there is. It looks more comic-booky than all the comic book films we are getting. Is this really supposed to be a serious thriller, or some comment about women empowerment in films?

I think it's just supposed to be a fun action movie. Don't over think it.

Of course, it would be interesting why anyone would over think it in the way you are. If the movie starred Tom Cruise, would you think anything other than "fun action movie?"

This. It looks like an old-school action flick, in the same vein of Van Damme's or Seagal's. Only, you know, with real actors.

Gina Carano could actually beat up most men though, it's not just acting. ;)
Yup. And most men would end up liking it. :p

I've never even heard of this movie.

But now that I know that it's directed by Steven Soderbergh, and is set in Dublin, Ireland, I am interested in seeing it, yes.

I'm interested...on DVD via Netflix.
That's not a statement about percieved quality, it's about my entertainment budget.

I saw over 20 films in theaters last year and it'll be close again so this one just doesn't make the "MUST SEE AT THEATER" list for me.

It looks fun though. I liked the Alien films, Salt(want a sequel), big Underworld fan, enjoy and seen all Resident Evil films and I'd love a Black Widow film spun out of Avengers so women kicking ass isn't a problem for me if it's a good enough film. Lord knows I've seen plenty of movies where men kick ass and the story was for shit so gender isn't in play in this case.

The whole concept is meh.. highly trained special operative is betrayed by someone from within, is on the run while fighting off pursuers and then gets to the truth of the thing and takes out the bad guy whi betrayed them.

The only twist is that the operative is played by an attractive, female MMA fighter which means the fight scenes should look good without it needing 6+ month of intense training (Matrix for example).

Not overly interested to see it.. may catch it on DVD or even TV when it's on.

I'm interested in seeing it.. Hopefully it will get right what Salt got wrong... Cool concept, but hokey execution...

Most of the male cast are in the movie only long enough to get their asses beat by Gina in a scene or two, so I wouldn't let that stop you from seeing it. Looks pretty neat. I'll go.

I'm interested in seeing it, but only due to the involvement of Steven Soderbergh and Michael Fassbender.
