I get it – "Do not stand between a Nazgul and his prey" – but it's too thin a connection to be anything more than mildly amusing.

I don't even think it works on that level. Replacing a specific noun with a general one sort of ruins whatever punch it might have had, but I don't think it'd be funny even if it used this organism's particular name.

I liked the OM NOM NOM suggestion. That was funny.

Personally, if I were going to use a SFF reference, I'd have gone with Dune. DO WE HAVE WORMSIGN?

Yep, funnier than the OP's caption.

The inner jaws do look so bone-like that the picture does look fake, even though it isn't.

My second thought on seeing it was "Shoggoth!"
