News Discovery Filming in Iceland?

I see Scotland gets a mention as doubling for another planet
Do yourself a favour and don't bother filming here, its fucking freezing most of the time and Glasgow really has some proper Space Cadets roaming the streets
Iceland looks cool though. if you pardon the pun.

It's amazing that Reykjavik is still bright out at 1:00 AM. I'm not a morning person, so a place like that would be perfect for me. It's cold but whatever. I record hockey.

Honestly it's probably immensely helpful with outdoor shoots too, since the midnight sun makes 14-hour outdoor shooting possible.

It also helps Iceland has terrain like this:

Don't have to rely upon the gravel pits of Toronto any longer.

Hockey’s not really a thing in Iceland. But late night brightness is certainly a cool thing.

I meant more because of how use I've gotten to dealing with the cold in general, not necessarily the sport or the job itself. I always have to wear at least two layers when I record games. Sometimes, depending on how cold the rink is, three.

One time, the rink was so cold, I had to wear: two heavy shirts over my regular shirt, underneath my jacket, two pairs of leggings underneath my jeans, and two pairs of socks under my boots. Not to mention gloves, of course. It was that cold. But only once. That was an extreme exception. They went way overboard with keeping the rink cold in that instance. And it was a tournament where there were multiple games, so I was there dealing with it all day for a few days in a row.

Ah. I misunderstood. I thought you recorded hockey on your PVR because you’re a fan. As for the hockey and Iceland thing, it just reminded me of a Disney movie my kids watched years ago about a kids hockey team whose “evil” opponents came from Iceland, rather than any country that actually plays hockey.

I’ve been in dozens of rinks and never has one been as cold as you’ve described. Yikes.

They'll melt the ice cream...

EDIT: There was supposed to be a photo with this, but it didn't work.
