Discovery DVD/Blu Ray Release?

I don't think there has been one peep uttered on the subject.

I'm assuming they might not do this until further down the road. If they think the exclusivity of availability in the US will continue to drive CBSAA subscriptions, they might not do it for quite some time.

This is supposed to be CBS's prestige product, so it seems like there should be a few extras of some kind, even if it's just some basic marketing fluff. See other recent shows like "Riverdale" and "Westworld," for example.

It will probably be before season two airs, so later this year.

I expect one way or the other it will be out this year. If season 2 starts airing this year it will come out 1-2 months before. If season 2 is delayed until 2019 I'd still expect a November type release for holiday sales.

For the first time, there will be a Trek video release I have no interest in. Already paid CBS enough to watch it streaming.

I like BBC's model better. DVD's & BD's come out like 2 weeks after the finale.

Hell, DW has done that split season thing on disc if you realllllly can't wait for a full season set.

I remember the previous season of DEXTER always came out right before the new season debuted.

Is that a case of 12 eps, then a break, then like 12 more eps? Or is it the older model with all (however many) eps in a row, then a long break?

I really don't know how a lot of TV shows work anymore. Most of what I watch are 15 episodes tops. Some have breaks, some don't.
