Some interesting stuff in that article.

Poor Tig with the technobabble! I'm glad they're going to spend time with Stamets and Culber's story and let it develop in a way that hopefully feels earned. Doug finding inspiration in Saru's changes, and also that they are going to revisit Kaminar again, yay!

I want to know more about Tyler's season arc, it reads as too passive for my taste, he needs more agency imo. Weird how they're couching it as him hurting people when so much of it was out of his (Ash's) control. He's also a victim needing to work through his issues and find a new identity and yet it's framed differently (for the most part) than Hugh.

Hopefully we can get more info/articles/quotes from the panel, it's always great to get the inside scoop.

Wow. I thank you for posting that. As you said, it was really moving. Sonequa made some great points about her character and how she approaches it, but even more amazing was the second part of the clip where she basically tries to articulate what it means to play a lead in a franchise, and also how much she loves working with her co-stars. Mary speaking up was so sweet. I was feeling the love by the end of it. What an amazing cast, you can tell that they care for and support each other.

Since Anson Mount is not there, this seems to be the season 3 cast. So interesting that Peck is there. All the talk about aligning with canon implies that Spock should join Pike on Enterprise. But when they asked Peck if he will be back in 3rd season he said he “can’t say”. Now seeing him with the rest of the cast in this event it seems like Spock will be somehow present in the 3rd season.

Maybe Spock does a little-back-and-forth. Or maybe he has a temporary assignment with Discovery but is still officially a member of Pike's Enterprise crew.

Or (for whatever reason) Anson Mount wasn't available. In other interviews Kurtzman stated they've just started to do the 'breakdown' of what they want doe Season ; so I doubt they have any cast finalized. Everyone there was definitely in Season 2.

Who's actually going to be in Season 3 (beyond the core cast of 'Regulars') probably remains to be determined.

Sonequa really seems to have a good insight into her character. I liked her talking about Michael's over-compensation. It just goes to show that the writers are definitely and consciously delving into the kinds of flaws/issues which might plague a human raised in a vastly different space culture to her own.

It is heartening to hear a lead actor not, in some form, claim "financial security" as their number one attraction to the franchise. The role of Michael Burham means something very real to Sonequa Martin-Green, and that is very Nimoy-like I think. To hell with her detractors!
