Different opening credits for an episode?

JesterFace

Fleet Captain
Commodore
There were different opening credits in 'Enterprise' when the story was something completely different in a mirror episode.
Would you have liked to see different opening credits in 'Yesterday's Enterprise'?

"These are the battles of the warship Enterprise
It's continuing struggle to fight the enemy
To seek out the enemy and wipe it out
To boldly fight like no ship before"

Apologies, but I honestly don't like that at all. It only really applies imho if you intend to just start an episode in an alt-reality with no other notice, which YE thankfully didn't do.

I'd have liked to see what they could come up with, though since TNG's opening doesn't feature a montage of historical scenes, some of the impact would be lost.

  • All Good Things… - Maybe use the original Season 1 intro as it revisits that era.
  • Cause and Effect- As the Enterprise just blew up, have it completely absent from the intro with just empty star fields.
  • Parallels- Maybe have a somewhat visually different Enterprise in the intro which makes the audience wonder what the heck is going on.

That Disco altered opening was depressingly lazy, but it was nice to have the very rare opportunity to say: "Enterprise did it better!" :bolian:

Enterprise set the benchmark, it's true. But, the very nature of Enterprise's opening credits (scenes of exploration and adventure) made it a perfect fit for altering the opening thus.

There are some nifty altered opening credits on YouTube, combining Trek credits sequences with "The Love Boat", "The A Team", "MagGyver", and others.

How about the Opening Credits to "Chain Of Command"

"How many lights are there? Are there four? Are there five? Or just one?"

The advantage that @GNDN18's idea of Riker doing the S4E1 intro would have had over the alternative of Locutus doing it is that it would have better preserved the suspense of whether Picard would get rescued.

They were great in their own right, but some of the impact of the ENT IAMD1&2 credits was from their surprise and from their novelty.
