Did uncle Owen know that Anakin became Darth Vader?

Lucas made the entire series up as he went along. There's gaps and nonsense in all of the movies. Watch ANH, does it really seem like in that movie Lucas intended for Luke and Leia to be brother and sister?

Does it REALLY seem like Lucas intedend for Darth Vader to be Luke's father?

Between Owen and Obi-Wan's dialouge, there feels like there was something was implied about Luke's father besides he was just a jedi in the Clone Wars. That there was more to it that just what Obi-Wan said. I think that was deliberate.

Well, the name Darth Vader means Dark Father in Dutch I know, so he may have been thinking along those lines early on.

The Owen connection to Anakin progressed. He was his brother in ANH and there was dialogue in the ROTJ script that revealed Owen and Obi-Wan were brothers. By the time the prequels came around, Anakin and Owen were step-brothers.

Wel, yeah, it's heavily implied there was something "more" to Luke's father. But that Luke's father was Darth Vader? Doesn't add up.

I imagine he had an idea that something went, uh, wrong with Anakin but I doubt he knows the specifics.

Obi: "I cut 3 of this limbs off and left him to burn to death on a lava planet."

Obi: "Yes, actually, I'd like to keep in touch regarding the boy. "

Owen: "Uh...okay. Property is real cheap over by the Jundland Wastes."

Obi: "Are there many people there? I'd like to keep a low profile."

Owen was actually just afraid that if He let Luke leave, he would swipe his protocol droid just like his father before him.

You're right about vader being Dutch for father, but darth is probably just made up.

ROTS ending implies that Obi-Wan dropped Luke off and probably gave Owen some info, but who knows if he spilled the beans. I always thought that Owen did know Anikin was Vader and realy Luke was the only one in the Dark. It begs the question, when Vader was looking for the droids why did he order the storm troopers to kill Owen and Beru? He obviously cared for them before he turned. Then agian, the Clones may not have even reported who the family was. Vader may not have known. I digress, Owen obviously knew something terrible happened IMO.
