Did the TNG movies change the AGT timeline?

Xerxes1979

Captain
Captain
Q's future described a conquered Romulus. Did the Nexus indirectly cause the destruction of Romulus?
Also would Picard have have been able to stop the second Borg invasion with just the Enterprise-D?
Had the Enterprise not been destroyed, that ship which was to become the Ent-E would have built and launched under a different name.

Did the Borg delay or put off the invasion from an altered Dominion war timeline? Did Troi's death somehow prevent these two crises from threatening the Federation?

The only other possibility is that Q manufactured the reality much like he did in Tapestry.

That's exactly the same problem Abrams' movie faces. Why was Chekov born four years early because of the destruction of the Kelvin? Why was the Enterprise launched in 2258 instead of 2245 etc.?

It's the butterfly effect!

The future as seen in All Good Things was fabricated by Q, and not all of it comes to pass. Some of it may be inevitable, like the uniforms and commbadges.

There could easily have been a Dominion War and another invasion of the Borg in that timeline, there just was no relevance AGT's story.

Picard and co. beat the Borg in First Contact since Data had a change of heart (or at least was not wholly honest in being the Borg "king") when the Borg Queen gave him skin grafts. Remember that Picard was convinced by Lily that revenge was silly and blowing the ship up was the correct path.

Also, Picard and co. had little to do with the discovery of the wormhole and the subsequent contact with the Dominion. Picard gave Sisko has orders/remit at DS9, but it was Sisko's old CO Layton who recommended him for the post. Sisko's discovery of the wormhole was inevitable in a way, since the Prophets ordained his existence, as he was their Emmisary.

Troi's death?? I missed something, which Troi?

The alternate future shown in AGT has the elderly Riker and Worf still blaming each other over the death of Deanna Troi some time in the past. We know this future probably won't come to pass exactly as foretold because there's no longer a Galaxy class Enterprise to gain a third nacelle.
