Did the Dominion ever annex the Gamma Q side of the wormhole?

It's fairly clear, even as late as S5, that the Gamma Quadrant exit of the wormhole wasn't in Dominion-held space. Do you think that they eventually DID take that space (and at least a corridor from their existing territories) during S6 or 7?

Yes. I believe that the Dominion took it when they were planning their invasion of the Alpha Quadrant when the last Federation Listening Post in the Gamma Quadrant went dead.

They couldn't have done it in Purgatory's Shadow/Inferno's Light - that whole fleet was bound for Cardassia. All they did at that time was shoot out the Fed listening posts as they went along. They would need to go back later, with another fleet of Jem'Hadar and the direct aim of militarily taking that space.

That doesn’t mean that on the way they couldn’t have laid waste to any competing claimants to the space, leaving it ripe for the taking at their convenience. With a fleet that size having been assembled and passing through that space, it would have been a sensible opportunity to take.

It would have been....how would they put it?... efficient and orderly? ... to take the GQ territory between their space and the wormhole. A 1 sector-wide path to it anyway.

Originally they didn't control the space around the GQ end of the wormhole, but by the time the war begun it wouldn't have made strategic sense NOT to have done so. We never went back to the Gamma Quadrant after S5 except in the finale so I assumed they did control it by then.
