Did Julian (extra) fake being a dumb basic simple pathetic basic gene joke human?

Jadzia had been trying to crack a holodeck brain teaser for close to a century, but failing horribly, because even with 4 or 5 brains, but not simultaneously, she's just not completely smart enough to do it.

If Julian had instantly solved the Alterian Brain teaser in seconds on his first attempt, which as a human augment was entirely possible, Jadzia, amazed by his genius, would have taken her clothes off and submitted to his super genius lust there and then without hesitation?

Did Julian decide that conquering his sex opponent, would lead to glorious wet unnatural coitus, but covering his ass was more important, or it didn't matter what sort of alpha male Bashir made himself out to be, it would not be the prefect road to take him between her legs for 25 minutes, or was he still too dumb to tackle this puzzle?

Not exactly politically correct, but this is the codex of most of the show.

The puzzle required clarity and focus of thought. Julian would presumably have both, but it was his first attempt and he was also crazy infatuated with Jadzia, who was hovering behind him. Enough to rattle even an augment.

It's easy to retroactively imagine him solving it on his second attempt when we cut away.

No, or at least they didn't say so. But it must be weird living as one personality in a symbiont and getting trotted out to a body every 20 to 50 years or so. It might have been difficult for Torias to tell. Most of the work on Bashir was mental abilities and I'm not sure they would be apparent to the symbiont.

If Dax needed 140 years, Julian would have needed four or five.

Maybe he finally solved it, and resolved to tell Dax and see if that would be good for some beast with two backs... right after he treated Quark's recent injuries, while trying not to think about how they had occurred.

And that was when a very disheveled Dax and Worf limped into the infirmary together.

Poor Julian.

Julian lost in tongo just because quark started talking about Jadzia and worf,
so when it comes to her he looses his cool pretty easily.

I don't know about totally ruined but why did the writers need to make Bashir a quasi-Data once his generically engineered status was revealed? The way the reveal story was written it sounded like Julian was a dull kid upgraded to Harvard honor grad and fencing champ, not necessarily Khan Noonian Singh. It just seemed a bit too much and became a writing crutch to define the character and/or act as plot armor as needed.

And it didn't have to be that way, just making the upgrade more akin to the Steven Erkel / Stephan Erquelle swap (for you fellow oldies) and keeping some of the character's limitations within human reason would have been so much better at preserving character integrity and keeping plots involving Bashir more interesting and impactful.
