Did Geordi Tell that Joke?

In Generations, Data claims that Geordi told a Ferengi joke during the Farpoint mission. But, while that exchange shows up in the Chakoteya transcript of the movie, I can't find it in the episode transcript.

And I thought I did vaguely recall La Forge saying the punchline, and early-Data having no clue what jokes were for.

So, was there ever a scene in TNG where we cut to Geordi telling the punchline and Data not getting it? I haven't seen the series since it was new.

I think Data is referring to something the audience never saw before.

Much of the day to day experiences of the characters we never see, Geordi telling Data this joke would be one example of this.
