Did Data do cocaine?

We all know Data had a certain fascination in with literary character Sherlock Holmes, in "Elementary Dear Data" we see Data say he's "throwing himself into the part" when he plays the violin.

So, I wonder. How far did Data "throw himself into the part" did he do coke?

I seriously doubt it.

If he did, it would've been synthe-coke like BillJ said. I wonder, would cocaine (or the synthe-version thereof) even affect Data?

I don't thing cocaine would affect him. He probably stuck a magnet in his hat or something to boggle his brain, and simulate the experience.

Cocaine would not work on Data.
It would take a magnet to give him the experience like BillJ said.
Synth-coke still would not work.
Anyhoo do you think Data would go that far?
(Probably)

The Psi 2000 variant virus worked on Data, implying his systems are somewhat vulnerable to intoxications (the Psi 2000 virus worked more like an intoxication than it did a disease). I suspect regular intoxicants would work on him as well, though I suppose he'd be a bit more resistant to it and it'd take more to effect him.

I think the idea of "synth-coke" is funny, just as I think the idea of synthehol is ridiculous as well.

May not be that ridiculous.

er, why would you want substances that simulate the effects of inebriation or drug highs without the actual highs?

Moreover, what does that even mean? How could something simulate making one drunk without them actually being drunk?
It produced a chemical reaction that convinced your brain you were buzzed, but, is reversible with a hypo-spray. Additionally, it seems to be a lightweight high that's fine for lightweights, but, "Manly Men" with a resistance, need the real thing.

they should have just stuck with having it give you a more lightweight high. That makes more sense than having it somehow "simulate" drunkenness without it actually involving being drunk.

Do they have synthesex too, where your brain is "tricked" into thinking you're having sex but you're not? (not including the holodeck of course)

The real question is how would Seven of Nine react to coke? She had no resistance to synthahol. What would the Borg be like if they assimilated a few tons of dope? Would it be more effective that Kirk's logic loops?

Maybe...

They'd probably just end up basing all of their Earth assimilation plans of on over the top 80s action movies though.

Personally, I am an android that has wanted to experience the human sensation of being "coked-up", as they so often put the phrase. I have found that while, naturally, ingesting the substance does nothing to my neuro-systems, I can easily emulate the experience. I downloaded a database of information concerning the effects of "coke" (the drug -- not the beverage) and how it affects the human system. I was easily able to emulate the affects of coke by tweaking the preformance levels of my operating system.

At the present I am emulating the effects of "getting stoned" -- that is, to say, ingesting copious amounts of the plant known as marijuana; I do not wish to emulate the experience of having a series of small stones tossed at my body. I am currently listening to mid-to-late 20th century recordings of a band known as "Pink Floyd" and watching the non-3D non-holo edition of "Yellow Submarine."

I am not entirely certain at this point if I am an android emulating the experience of being a "stoned" human...Or a human emulating the experience of being a stoned android. I am struck; this is a profound thought. I will right this thought down to puzzle over with later and to perhaps share with my friends. Do you not agree it is a deep thought? Oh dear. I am experiencing an increased need for food take and yet I do not intake food. That is another thought I wish to record for later study.

I am a Zingler type android model 3-aab, female type. If you wish to have further conversations about the emulation of human intoxication, or perhaps conversations concerning the quantity and quality of lines in your hands, then please send me a private message through the BBS system.
