Did anybody like ICHEB!

I loved Icheb!

I howled when he thought married B'Elanna was interested in him "romantically", and loved his friendship with Q2. "Cue ball" and Itchy". I also not only liked the maternal side he brought out in Seven, but liked the "fellow BORG" aspect he brought to their dynamic.

Icheb is awesome!

"Child's Play" IMO is one of Voyager's best episodes.

Also a special shout out to Mark Sheppard as his father.:bolian:

I do not understand the "hatred" that some people have for certain characters. Maybe I am lucky in that I have no one in my real life that I hate, so I can't generate any hatred for a fictional character. Maybe it is just a fun term of hyperbole. I just find it interesting. Nero destroyed Vulcan and tried to do the same to Earth, but I do not hate him. I began to find Lore a bit annoying after a while, but don't hate the character or the writers that created his words and actions.

Anyway, Icheb worked as a character for me. I liked him just fine as he was. Not everyone can be a "Scotty"! :)

This I can identify with.
1- I was always raised that "hate" is a strong word. You "dislike" things but it's wrong to "hate". Too hate or wish ill will on anybody is asking for hate or ill will back on yourself.

2- I too don't "hate" anybody, so that mindset translates into much of my personality. Sure there are folks I'd rather not deal with but I don't hate them. So it's not in my character to hate any fictional character.

It seems that if someone dislikes something...like dislike of Icheb...they are labeled a "hater". You see this all the time. Like a writer from Smallville told fans not to worry about the "haters"...these "haters" were other fans not happy with an episode and certain things that were going on with the show. Hate/hatred is too strong to use.

I thought Icheb was cute and an interesting recurring character. I'm very happy he got to come back to Earth with everyone else and start a new life.

The story with his parents was very sad and poignant. :( I guess it should be noted I also like Wesley Crusher and Harry Kim, though. ;)

This thread title should be formatted as a question, not a statement, by the way.

Naaa. Shouting is alway good with the BBS...

I liked Icheb. He had some interesting scenes with Seven and I found the ep his his parents very sad and cool.

I didn't mind Icheb and the borg kids, nor Naomi Wildman for that matter. Thought her relationships with Seven and Neelix worked well in context and she and the others were less nauseating/saccharine than other TV kids I've seen. My main issue is the common one that the more general problem was the misdirection away from original cast members.

To be honest, the only Trek kid I don't like is Wesley. There are times when Alexander got on my nerves, but on the whole I liked that character.

Jake, Nog, Molly, Naomi, Icheb and the other Borg kids were all great characters.
