Did Al Gore like TNG or DS9?

Mr. Scott

Commander
That's the question.

Gore loved TOS when it was first on in college. He smoked a lot cough, cough, cough then. Personally, Star Trek, all series is good, especially with a bowl.:rommie:

I am sure he loved it. I am sure Bush, Clinton and Obama does too. We grew up (especially Obama) on it.

Sorry if the bowl reference might offend. But we smokers love Trek and Trek wouldn't exist without us.

Who cares?

According to Stephen Ratliff's "Time Speeder", Clinton was a huge Star Trek fan.

Of course, Stephen Ratliff stories bear little resemblance to reality.

At first, I thought this could lead to a whole new image. And maybe a new career. No more Leno jokes about being stiffer than the Secret Service. Maybe an opportunity to do other shows. I was elated when "Star Trek: The Next Generation" wanted me to do a guest shot -- until I learned they wanted me to replace Lieutenant Commander Data.

I wouldn't be surprised if Al Gore was too busy throughout the 90s doing things like being the Vice President of the United States to keep track of DS9.

I see no particular reason to think that either of the Presidents Bush or President Clinton were anything more than casual Trek fans. President Obama seems to have been a TOS fan as a child, is reported by Leonard Nimoy to have given him a Vulcan salute, and apparently enjoyed ST09 when they screened it at the White House.

Wow, you guys are so warm and inviting.

Why do you care enough to 1) read and 2) then reply in the this thread?

If he, or any of these incredibly busy...dare I say, "engaged" people watch television, I wouldn't be surprised if they caught some of TNG at least and enjoyed it.
