Diamond Select TWOK Enterprise

wtf were they thinking when they made it? The nacelles aren't part of the ship; they come detached and you have to "plug" them in; the stand comes in two parts, with the second part (from the base to the ship) being thin plastic, so you must be careful shoving the ball into the hole on the Enterprise's underside. The nacelles are wobbly, the part where the pylons connect to the engineering hull is unglued, exposing the wires, and the saucer is unpainted translucent plastic, causing any light to shine directly through it.
Other than that, the sounds and lights are great! It even says KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!

While it isn't perfect, the DST/AA ships are -- in most cases -- the best physical representations of their subject in existence.

The 1701, 1701 Refit/A, 1701-D, are all beyond reproach. Oh sure the stands are imperfect, and the light bleed through is true. But compare them to the Playmates counter-parts... and boy... you see how drastically superior the AA/DST ones are.

The 1701-E, mind you, has further flaws; the paint scheme is screwy for one thing.

But... they're all so far superior to any that have been made before...

Considering the "next best thing" to exist as a large model/toy of them where the playmates crap-tastic ones for 20+ years? I'll not bite the hand that feeds me. :)

Can't wait for the Excelsior/ENT-B.

REALLY can't wait for the day they do Voyager. Which at this rate, will be 2017 or later...

Although that stand IS just about the most useless thing I've ever seen.

I haven't taken mine out of the box yet but I've had much fun pushing the button. It's a worthwhile purchase for that alone!

I just bought the huge1/350 scale model on eBay and was thinking of incorporating the electronics from on of these into that model....

This is the worst thing for me! Now with the NX-01 I opened her up and painted the inside black, bleed through problem solved no prob. The problem with the TWOK Ent is I can't fugure out a way to sefely open her up. I'm dieing to give her a black interior paint job. If anyone figures it out let us know!

The Playmates ships were toy first, appearance second. It seems the DS/AA ships are the reverse. The TWOK Enterprise is very flimsy (it says ages 3 and up - I'd have it in pieces at age 7!)

More nitpicking: the deflector dish is black with a blue LED light behind it; wouldn't it make more sense for the dish to be clear blue plastic? The light is very dim.

I'm hinting hard to get that for my 40th birthday - the TMP ploar lights version will look so cool with my Citadel TMP figures. I think nobody is listening to me though.

Sadly I lack the skill to transfer the electronics. Some real experts have set up the whole light system, including landing bay and it looks sooooo cool.
