Diamond Select Phaser Batteries

PCz911

After sterling service, the batteries died. I ordered more and… they didn’t fit. Strange. I looked at the originals and ordered replacements from the manufacturer thinking perhaps these were thicker. Nope. The stock batteries are taller than all the replacements so there is not completed circuit.

Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a solution? Is there an electrical engineer in the house?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Stuff tinfoil into the gaps.

If I’m right and the replacements are too small?

Tinfoil will serve as a conductor and complete the circuit.

Is your name Ronald Tracey?

Yup. Tinfoil into the gaps. Or BB's.

Flip the batteries to their flat side - get a magnifier if you need to - and read the type code.

That's all you need to know to order replacements from just about anywhere. They are hearing aid batteries.

If the proper batteries still don't fit, there's something wrong with the phaser itself, might need to work on the contacts.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Re:battery type. I used the instructions as well as the original batteries to order the correct type. Alas, they still don’t fit (loose)
Re: aluminum foil. I tried using foil to bridge the gaps. I couldn’t get it to work. Perhaps I did it wrong. I may need to understand how one of these batteries work. Need to use “the google “ and find out.

out of curiosity, has this happened to anyone else before ?
