Deus Ex Human Revolution: DO NOT BUY AT GAMESPOT

Upon further thinking, I think what complicates all this is the fact that Gamestop recently purchased Impulse, another online steam-like store, so there's definitely a conflict of interest there, and what do you know.... the two versions of the game are their best sellers on Impulse right now. Now, we know that Gamestop is removing the coupons, and nobody's mentioned it, but could they possibly be putting in coupons for Impulse at the same time? That'd be truly devious.

Given that they were apparently unaware of the OnLive coupons, I doubt they had time to put together a strategy for Impulse at the same time. Though they will probably be thinking about it in the future, thanks to this debacle.

Well, they were definitely aware enough to be taking them out of the box... :)

I mean, even if it's taking out the coupon and replacing them with an Impulse advertisement, I wouldn't put it past them.

Right, but they seemed to be caught off-guard by it, hence the hasty email to retailers to remove the coupons. No time to print up Impulse ones and package those.

Yeah, but what if they already had generic Impulse inserts not referring to anything in particular, but rather just for the service itself? Being that they own it, it doesn't seem impossible. I'm just trying to see things from a different angle.

Just wondering, is DE any good?

If you mean the new one, my brother playtested it and said it was very strong.

If you mean the original, then I can personally answer in the affirmative.

I still haven't gotten around to DE: Invisible War, and I hear there's not a whole lot of point in doing so.

Yeah, it comes across like, "We're totally sorry for what we did, so here's something to allow you to get some more open boxed games from us."

I dunno, I am starting to wish I pre-ordered at Gamestop. $50 is $50.

This is the first non-WoW PC game I have gotten at full retail in a long, long time. Totally worth it. It just wouldn't feel right playing it on console.

My first impressions are that I would say that the gameplay itself is better than the first, but I cannot comment on the level design. Hacking and combat feel much better (as they should). Actually, this game has my favorite implementation of hacking in a game as it is fun and a bit challenging without being stupid or random (ala Bioshock). I've just beaten the intro mission, so I don't know exactly how big the world is. The game lets me play how I want to play so far, which is a lot of stealth and then go in for the kill if I have a nice advantage. At least initially you can't soak up much damage.
