I m enjoying the book but something is bothering me.. Why didn t the author portrayed Burnham and Spock as brothers?

I guess someone hasn't seen the show--and apparently knows nothing about the show

Oh, ok. That makes more sense now.

As far as why he didn't describe them as siblings I don't recall exactly.

I guess partly because at that time maybe it was inferred her and Spock had a split. Some of that novel has been overwritten by Season 2 so some of that may be different now. But the gist I recall is her and Spock had not spoken in years.

At the very least, in the novel and even in season 2 of Discovery their relationship is complicated.
