Description of DS9 from a netflix envelope.

Nerdius Maximus

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
Commander Benjamin Sisko (Avery Brooks) heads the crew of Deep Space Nine -- including Odo (Rene Auberjonois), Worf (Michael Dom), Dax (Terry Farrell) and others -- as it travels through space, trying to keep both the ship and the areas it travels safe, secure and free. One of the first (and greatest) challenges the intrepid voyagers face is the violence of the Dominion, a group composed partially of the shape-shifting Changelings.

I'm less concerned about the notion of DS9 traveling through space (hell, in Emissary, it did :p ), than I am the blatant spoiler about the Changelings being part of the Dominion, which is a perhaps predictable but nontheless surprising reveal.

That's like saying, "Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and others fly through space in the Millennium Falcon, fighting the evil Empire and their most dangerous foe, Luke's father, Darth Vader."

It's a misleading spoiler, also. The Dominion aren't one of the first challenges faced by our interpid crew of the wandering space station, they don't show up until the second season finale.

So... yeah. This actually looks like it's a summary based on someone reading or half-remembering someone else's summary and then guessing the rest of it. They do not pay these guys much, clearly.

It's not a moon, um, I mean ship, it's a space station!

Actually given the prequels exist now the relationship between Luke and Vader is not a surprise unless you have never seen the movies and start from ep4. Now the mystery is the Sidious-Palpatine connection.

"These are the voyages of the space station Deep Space Nine. Its seven season mission to seek out Bajoran religious artifacts and new wormholes. To boldly stay put in one place like no Star Trek series has done before."

Which further reinforces that if and when I have children, they're watching Star Wars in the 'proper' order.

^ The 'proper' order would be from 1 to 6, but I get what you mean - production/release order.

It's from a season 2 envelope. All of the other seasons have accurate summaries, so I don't know what happened with this one.

Well, DS9 did technically fly through space in the Pilot, maybe they are partially basing this description on that?

I actually think it's too bad we never saw DS9 maneuver again. I mean, it's no starship and it shouldn't be moving all the time, but it would have been interesting to see another case or two where they had to move the station for some reason.

Well, he probably knew about that old defense program and that someone would trigger it. I guess he couldn't say no when they asked for help.
