On several of the character pages of Lostpedia.com, especially for characters in later seasons, there is a section detailing the casting call for that character, usually describing the character in a fairly misleading way, encapsulating their character quirks but changing names, details, and important plot points. Some of my favourites are:
Interesting stuff. I always wondered where they got that information from.
Plus, I also wondered how one might have put together similarly misleading casting calls for the main characters or other characters from season 1? (especially knowing what we know now about them)
Lennon (Dogen's bespectacled lieutenant)
Male, mid 30s to late 50s, could be any ethnicity. Scruffy, edgy and charismatic, yet can be deferential when needed; may have gone a little stir-crazy. Spokesperson and translator for the president of a foreign corporation. He facilitates the weight and power of his boss’s commands. He is a wily negotiator who is far more powerful than it seems from his position....
MIB (as played by Titus Welliver in "The Incident" / "Ab Aeterno")
Samuel. Any ethnicity, 40s-60s. A corporate raider looking to take over his next company. Powerful, devious and obtuse. He has a cunning intellect and a strong sense of danger. May lead to recurring. Looking for someone very interesting and very special for this role...
Radzinski (crazed architect of the Swan station)
Marty Jankowsky-40s to 50s, Caucasian, very smart and controlling. Marty has his own way of doing things and god help you if you cross him and/or try to alter his very precise process. A deep and free thinker he uses his fierce intellect as a weapon.
Charles Widmore (as seen in the second half of season 5, from the 1970s Hostiles era)
Graham, Caucasian, male, 40. Blue eyes, 6 foot, English/British ONLY, confident, has come into his own and ready to be a leader. He's the SVP of a major financial corporation jockeying for the CEO position...
