Deleted scenes you've seen

ScatmanRescueMe

Lieutenant Commander
Besides what's available on the DVDs and on youtube............

What deleted movies scenes have you seen that are NOT available on the various websites ??

Anybody here see a early preview where it was adifferent version??

And please, I hope folks will be honest here on the internet and not make up stuff!!

Really though, a lot of folks know the deleted scenes backwards and forward having seem them or not.

Well, I have Star Trek 2 taped from ABC back in '85...they had some different takes of a couple scenes than what's on the DVD (Saavik and Kirk in the elevator, and the science team at Regula discussing what to do about Reliant), but there's always these rumors of missing scenes. I think we've pretty much seen it all.

Not really, there are many, many scenes shot that are NOT available on the DVDs or youtube.

The one I've wanted to see the most for years is the Kirk/Bones scene from TSFS, right after Kirk's opening monologue. I've seen many stills from that scene and Nimoy talked about it at the time. It was said to be real good work by Kelley, but it 'gave too much away.' I could name 25 more scenes from the ten movies. I don't think the Quark scene from Insurection has ever been seen by the public, but it damn sure exists--unless it was so bad they burnt it.

Oh yes, i wish SOMEBODY with the 'ABC version' of TWOK would post the alternate Kirk/Saavik 'lift scene' on youtube !! I haven't seen that for 20 years and I'm really interested in the supposed more romantic attraction they show in that version.

It plays better than the scene that's on the TWOk dvd, the cuts are better, the performances are a little more nuanced. The same goes for the Regula scene.

Well, i've never seen it, but I'd love to see the cut scene from TWOK where Khan mentions marla by name just before he realizes that "you didn't expect to find me here!"
Also the "Not so much different from Enterprise........' scene when he first takes over Reliant in TWOK

How surprising, I want to see more stuff from TWOK !!!

Man if they announced some Blu-ray versions of the Trek movies with 'never seen' deleted scenes from the TOS movies, i'd buy a player immediately !!!!

Also, the first version of the Kirk/David fight and the 'Terrell discovers the baby' and....................

Actually they DID use the 'ABC version' of the 'Regula Debate' on the Director's cut of TWOK.

I have both versions (theatrical & DE) on DVD and they use the longer ABC version on the D.C.

I think the longer version is better dialogue-wise but the moving camera work was slightly better for the take they used in the theatrical. Some of the actors faces were blocked by the lab support beams during the longer version--which is possibly why they went with the other take.

Off the subject slightly, roddenberry saw a longer cut of TUC just before he passed away. He hated the scene where Scotty says, "that Klingon bitch probably killed her father"

I think the studio took his 'list of complaints' they he made up just before he died, and used that as anexcuse to cut out a few bits here and there. There was a scene where arms makers are egging on the Fed Pres to gear up for war and i think Roddenberry hated that too. I mean people who build weapons never actually want wars to happen:eek:

Anyway it would be interesting to know if anybody outside the studio ever saw that cut of the movie.

OK, I may be thinking if the VHS version from my old widescreen box set. That was different than what I was used to (That was my TWOK tape for 10 years!)...but I'm going to doing a Trek marathon so I'll be watching it soon enough.

Apparently Roddenberry hated TFF and TUC so much he considered them apocrypha, not part of canon! That's crazy.

Also the wounded soldier/McCoy scene form Trek 5.

I want to see anything that had De Kelley in it. They shouldn't have cut any line or scene that had Kelley in it, period.:techman:

The two sickbay McCoy/Chekov scenes from TWOK, the longer version of the 'observation room reception' at the end of trek 5 with more Spock/McCoy dialogue, the...............

Yes, the 'ABC version' of the 'regula debate' is not on any official version of TWOK until the 2002 director's version, No vhs, no beta, no laserdisc, nor the first version DVD.
So from 1985 till 2002 the only way to see any of the ABC version was if you taped it from TV. For a couple of years after the 1985 airing they showed the longer version on a few different tv broadcasts, but then of course, they needed shorter versions of it as more commercials were added as the years went by.
Heck, if not for the need to pad the 1985 ABC premiere showing of TWOK by 3 1/2 minutes---we never might have gotten to see any of the cut footage.
But people who saw the ABC version kept clamoring for an official version with the additions. Finally they decided the only way to sell the movie AGAIN was to have the longer version. I hope they don't think they can release the 'short-only' version on Blu-ray !!! ft it doesn't have both cuts, I won't buy it.

That's a nice little scene. Nice character moments. That must be why it wasn't in the final cut...

yep, in the editing room they looked for any good character stuff and got rid of it.

The mystery is why they didn't have the sense to re-cut the movie and try to sell it to us again.

I'd buy a longer version of Nemesis on Blu-ray, but the current cut--nope!

I had high hopes for Nemesis, read every John Logan interview (a superfan writing the script, and he did Gladiator! sweet!), but really, what we got wasn't what we were promised.

I'd be interested in a longer cut of Nemesis, just being a Trek fan. The lon cut of Alin 3 in my Alien Quadrilogy(?) box set is actually not too bad...if you can get through it. I was actually able to tell the bald headed prisoners apart by the end!

Agreed. I would much enjoy a "complete" cut of Nemesis that uses all the deleted scenes and the alternate ending. My guess is the full cut would have been much better than the theatrical version. Maybe for the Blu-Ray release? :D

Yeah, maybe. A good example of a movie improved by re-editing and re-including is Superman 2:the Richard Donner Cut-the movie came out more serious and honest...not so goofy.

I think Nemesis had alot of promise, but fell flat. Maybe there's some gems to be reinserted.

I have seen the ABC-TV broadcast of STII but I would not be able to point out any scenes that are different from those on the SE DVD

Well, that's from the second DVD (C.E.) release of Nemesis !!

They knew they had to give something extra for the second release since it was coming only a few months after the first release.

The first release had 6 or 7 deleted scenes and the second had 13, i believe.

I don't buy DVDs, so I'm entirely in the dark what extras they stick on them!
