"Definately, Maybe" Movie (spoilers!)

Well I just caught this recently and was actually surprised. A romantic comedy that doesn't follow your traditional Hollywood formula.

Overall I thought it was pretty entertaining as I was unable to figure out who Ryan Reynold's character would end up being with. The role of the daughter, played by Abigail Breslin threw me off a bit but was funny to watch.

The interesting part of the plot was how Ryan Reynold's character was able to fall in love with each of the women in a unique way.

It was also very surprising to find out that the movie did not end by finally revealing who the Abigail's mother really was.

What did some of you guys think?

Re: "Definitely, Maybe" Movie (spoilers!)

This is a very satisfying romantic comedy. Ryan Reynolds is terrific as Will Hayes, Young Democrat and Idealist. He goes to work for the Bill Clinton presidential campaign of 1992, and his fortunes rise and fall like Bill's. In the present day, Will tells his daughter Maya about the women in his life, and that's the setup for the film.

Rachel Weisz and Elizabeth Banks, who were both in Fred Claus, return as two of Will's love interests. I love Banks for her wholesomeness, and I'd watch her read the phone book if that's all she could do. But the fiery little redhead Isla Fisher makes the greatest impression. She raises this film with her sass and energy. Kevin Kline has an amusing and memorable supporting role as a horny old intellectual.

Eventually, we do learn the identity of Maya's mother. And as in another romantic comedy set in New York City, (Serendipity, starring John Cusack and Kate Beckinsale), the fortuitous discovery of a certain book plays a key role in reuniting two people who were once in love and could be again. Everything works in this film, and it's one of my favorites for this year.

I saw this on the plane to Washington DC last week.

Although I found the mother/daughter part a bit confusing, it was not the vomit-inducing pile of crap that most romantic comedies are.

Some nice performances. Worth seeing.

Haha right? Not your typical, 1+1=2 hollywood, good for <$100 mil standard romantic movie, where you can predict they hook up just by seeing the movie title when you are in line buying tickets.
