Metro City was under siege! Hit by a crime wave that paralyzed the city, Metro City Police Department turned to a special federal anti-crime program called The Viper Project and its central technology, the Viper Defender. Usually appearing as a production Dodge sports car, it can transform into a high-tech, high speed interceptor with various modifications including armor plate, four wheel drive and weapons pods. With a skilled driver/operative behind the wheel, the Defender is the ultimate weapon against lawlessness.

Viper was an action/adventure series that ran for one season on NBC and three more in syndication. Set in the fictional Metro City, Viper was the story of a special anti-crime program centered around a normal-looking car that tronsforms into a super car to fight major crimes. Both the Dodge Viper RT/10 and the heavily modified Viper Defender were provided to the show by the Dodge corporation, departing from the usual practice of the modified car being built by custom car builders.

I prefer the season 1 transformation. It's a lot smoother.

Can't believe the show is almost 22 years old. I didn't see much of it when it got brought back to life for seasons 2-4 a year after it was cancelled.

The season 2 intro shows more of the car in action. That's why I picked it.

I never watched it regularly. I thought it was just a knight rider wannabe.
