All right, ladies and gentlemen, let's ease ourselves back into the swing of things. I present to you, the all-new, hot off the keyboard TrekBBS Fan Fiction Forum Writing Challenge Contest, pat. pending, where you! I! We will pit our prodigious storytelling skills against one another for the right to declare ourselves King or Queen of the Block and make our fellow fan fiction writers dance to our tune. Because we can. Now, since it's been a while since we've had one of these here it's only appropriate that we start with a warm-up to get our muscles used to competition again, so we're going to start with an easy theme: anything Star Trek related. That's it. If you've got a story and it has even the tiniest bit to do with the Star Trek brand - canon and/or fanon - It's fair game. Write it, post it, cross your fingers. Of course, there are rules. Let's go over them: -Normally, the first rule is that the entry should be created specifically for the contest, but we're waiving that for a couple of reasons. First, the theme is so broad that such a rule is pointless, and second, I don't want to hear "I can't come up with something new just for the contest! It's, like, HARD!" So, pick something you're already done with, polish it and enter it. -Next is the word count range. It's nice and roomy, between 1000 and 15,000 words. Does it have be a thousand words? Yes, but that's not a lot. Does it have to be 15,000 words? No. That's a limit, not a goal. Just get somewhere between one and fifteen grand words and you'll be fine. -The story must be complete at the time you enter it. To enter, create a thread for the story (if it doesn't already have one) and link that thread to this one. -The deadline for entering is January 28, 2019. That will leave the last days of January for voting. All right, forum. That's your mission. Good luck and Godspeed.
