Dec Challenge Vote thread

I voted for Kegek because I liked the idea behind the story and it was clever and well written.
I voted for Starkers because he/she produced a well crafted and moving story.

My profuse apologies!

Being sick on the 30th and having a full time job does sort of scramble one's priorities...

:(

Well... I hope everyone has a happy new year!

In the end I voted for myself-but I felt bad doing it-if "Lights" had been further developed, well, and Lenses was great -I should have voted for that-especially since "Pally" got nada. C'est la vie. Who's kicking out JAN CHALLENGE? I'm gonna rip a fine little piece out. Or not. But I'll go down swinging! How come the voting screen/thread doesn't have the stories hotlinked? Would have made it easier! :brickwall:

I guess that with two votes the Machavellian way to do this would be to throw one vote to some poor schmuck with little chance of winning, and one to who you wanted to win..like yourself.

But Gah, I voted honstly for Absent Friends, and look where it got me.. I guess I should watch Survivor more for strategy, but I HATE so called "reality" TV so much.

Oh well. Much fun was had by all, or most..

I want to know what the January challenge will be. I'm eager to participate. I voted for Lenses, I thought it was good. All of them were good really, and all could continue to be even better. I wish my writing was that good. Some day perhaps...

I voted for Kegek and Count Zero.

No point winning if you have to vote for yourself to do it :bolian:

the stories weren't hotlinked because it was enough hassle just making sure i got all the authors and stories added to the poll.

edit: as for the winner, there's still 24 hours to go.

Mistral, the unofficial rule in these contests is that you're not supposed to vote for your own story--even if you have more than one vote, and even if you honestly think that your story is the best.

I can tell you from personal experience that there are people in this forum who will insult you to your face for voting for yourself, using words like "shitty" and "shameful" to describe your behaviour, just to make sure you know how much holier they are than thou.

These people seem to think that voting for yourself is bad manners. Pity they won't get the beam out of their own eye before worrying about the mote in yours.

So, make sure to vote for someone else, even if you think their story is weaker than yours. At the very least, if you vote for yourself, don't admit it. When it comes to these challenges, appearances are more important than honesty.

'kay. Newbie-still learning ropes-even goofed more-didn't see comment about 2 votes allowed-so I blew it doubly. If it can be corrected then throw my on Lenses.

God damn!

I finally finished reading all the stories. The responses to this month's challenge have been exceptional. Even the one I disliked was well-written.

I haven't got a clue who to vote for.
