Death's Angel

Fedaykin

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Anyone read this one? It's an old Bantam book by Kathleen Sky. I just rediscovered it on one of my too full bookshelves. It's a "Journey to Babel"-type story, the Enterprise ferrying diplomats to a peace conference with the Romulans. There's some really inventive aliens in this story, the author really took some liberties with Trek species...but that's fine.

It's a pretty different kind of Trek book, I recommend it if you can find it at a used book store.

"Death's Angel" did some clever things, and I know people who loved it. I read it when it first came out. Had the aliens not all been so reminiscent of Earth animals, complete with funky names derived from very obvious Earth terms - and had Elizabeth Schaeffer(?) not been so "Mary Sue" - I'd have been much happier.

A friend once made a wonderful Si-s-s-s-s (click) costume. One day, when I was visiting with Bjo Trimble in LA, we bumped into her good friend, Kathleen Sky, in Bjo's local supermarket! I was able to tell Ms Sky about the costume, and when I got back home to Sydney I sent her some photographs of the blue crocodile via Bjo.

BTW, the Bantam novels are also being discussed in this thread:
