dean koontz's novel odd thomas has begun filming this may.

• Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Viola
• Nico tortorella as Simon Varner

Tim Robbbins is all so rumored to be in the film.


Odd Thomas life is flipped upside-down we he come across a strange midnighter dinner in the restraurnt he works in. and begins to believe that the man is connected to an apocalyptic catalyst. filming started shooting in may 2011.

Loved the book.......always meant to get back and read the rest of the series. Hopefully they do the book justice with the movie but I never hold my breath.

Four so far - Odd Thomas, Forever Odd, Brother Odd, and Odd Hours - plus two manga prequels, In Odd We Trust (which is really good), and Odd Is On Our Side (which I haven't seen)

Yelchin actually strikes me as really good casting on this one... A lot's going to depend on Stormy, and I've never heard of the person listed above as playing her.

I loved the first book, have certain issues with the second and third books, and the fourth is a return to form. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book (Dean plans on seven books total, I believe). I'm looking forward to this film but some of the casting is questionable. Anton Yelchin will probably make a pretty good Odd, but I'm not sure about Dafoe as Wyatt (I imagined Sam Elliot in the role) and Patton Oswalt is not nearly big enough to play Ozzie. Not sure about this chick playing Stormy but we'll see.
