Dealing with moody people. Are you moody? How do you deal with ..

Re: Dealing with moody people. Are you moody? How do you deal with .

Hubby gets moody, but denies it. He's unhappy with his job--but he's always unhappy with his job. His standards are high and while he'll tolerate pretty well work standards a bit lower, he's tired of, say, him and a tech being able to finish the day's workload, but another pharmacist with two techs still being unfinished. It's gotten bad enough and obvious enough that his main tech ( his "one tech") is getting a tired of the other pharmacist enough to leave if Hubby leaves.

When Hubby's moody for no apparent reason, I say "it's his time of the day."

I'm only moody in private. I am really good at turning it off when I'm around other people.

That's called normal. Everyone can get moody from time to time. It's when you try to drag others into your bad mood for the ride where it becomes inconsiderate.

This also means you're self aware of your mood which is normal as well. I'm talking about the type of people who aren't self aware that they are moody and try to bring others down with them.

Boundary the shit out of them so they don't interfere with your life. ;)

I'm so moody, I really don't care or notice if other people are moody.

That's the problem. You people take out your bad moments on the rest of us. But when you're on the upside of the roller coaster you wonder why we aren't on the ride for the thrill with you then too.

You sound like my best friend. Whenever I'm in a bad mood (and trying my best not to show it) he picks up on it anyway and immediately takes it as directed at him, which it never is, until he starts whining that I'm "mad at him for some reason". Which I'm not. Until he starts to whine.......

Re: Dealing with moody people. Are you moody? How do you deal with .

I usually get moody when I am very tired, hungry, thirsty or overpowered with something.

That's pretty much me. I'm not hypoglycemic or anything, but if I'm starving I get a little on-edge.

His standards are high and while he'll tolerate pretty well work standards a bit lower, he's tired of, say, him and a tech being able to finish the day's workload, but another pharmacist with two techs still being unfinished.

I used to get like that, but since I'm not the boss all I can do is my own job and worry about myself. If his supervisor is worth a damn he'll notice a problem and should be able to figure out where the weak links are.

The older I get, the more moody I become. Years ago, I was very calm. Sea of glass type of calm. Now, I have so much stress that I deal with every day that it's finally broken through that tranquility, and now I'm very moody from one minute to the next. It gets worse when my blood sugar drops.

I get upset pretty easily, Its like if something upsets me just a little, I start crying. And the customers at work can put me in a pissy mood. But I am aware if I am in a bad mood and try to apologize to my coworkers if say something I shouldn't. I'm usually pretty good with them though. Luckily only one of my coworkers has caught me crying and she was really nice about it. I just started taking some medication, hopefully, it will calm me down a little.

I am the moodiest frakkin' person in moodyville. I should have a t-shirt saying 'Moody & Proud' (though I'm secretly ashamed). One of my favourite songs is 'Moody's Mood' (no kidding). I'm so moody, I really don't care or notice if other people are moody.

LOVE Moody's Mood.. I love his version.

To answer the question, i suffer from depression (i actually think i am undiagnosed bi-polar) so yeah, i get moody. It was at it's worst last month with the whole menopause thing. Im much better now.

Or it could just be that i'm a passionate italian.

That's the best solution I've heard yet in this thread. Some people though despite trying to create boundaries with violate them constantly without consequences. And when management at work refuses to make consequences happen for violating that it becomes annoying.

It really sounds like it's a work situation and you need to either suck it up and deal with it, or if it's bad, you need to address it with management.

Agreed.

When you go to work, you need to leave all your bullshit at the door. Unless you're having specific work-related issues that are causing your moodiness, there is no reason to let it affect your work environment.

Re: Dealing with moody people. Are you moody? How do you deal with .

Im not moody but i have been told im grumpy... nothing better than a good moan but it seems at the moment im very moody, can be up or down but im putting that down to my current knee injury which has been going on for 8months with no end in sight as well as issues at work which are occurring due to this blasted injury.

In terms of others who are moody, i tend to let them go on about their issues (or rather make it appear im listening or offer advise if i can) and then later on will try to do something funny - it often works.

Ah, well, then you need to go to the next level.

Figure out how to boundary this shit out of your job, so it doesn't interfere with your life.

I should really write fortune cookies or something... I'm wasted, I tells you...

I'm not a moody person and I don't often have to deal with it in other people. I do have one co-worker who fits the bill though, I just ignore it. The guy really needs to get laid, but it's not my problem. I don't let other people ruin my day.
