Deadly Shooting in My Home Town :(

I do not usually write about news here much, but this for me personally is a big shock
There was a serious shooting incident in the city of Hyvinkaa where I was born and lived for at least 25 years:

I visited there not so long ago and I have walked trough the area more times that I can remember.
I live in Czech now..but this really hit me pretty hard.
There has been couple of school shootings in Finland in the past few years..now this.
Whats wrong with (some) young people these days?
They obviously need more help..I just hope the government will start doing more to prevent these kind of things.
But I guess this will be just treated as "isolated incident"

If you treat it as systemic problem (no idea whether it actually is one) the obvious way to contain these kind of things is to tighten arms rights.

Stuff like this can definitely be a shock when it happens in an area where it was initially very rare and then there's a sudden increase of it.

It was in the news here, too. I guess these incidents are so shocking because there's never any reason behind them. People just kinda lose it and start killing people. This makes it all the more tragic because their victims dies a really pointless death.

It doesn't have to be pointless. We might use this as a motivator to make each other happier. If we are all happier, less of us would ever cross that line. Hopefully.

I'm sorry to hear that, JRS. These types of incidents are always not only tragic, but deeply disturbing. My condolences to the people of your hometown.

It kinda comes down to someone thinking "Well, that person did it, so can I."

In other instances, there's no real connection at all. Just a lot of people committing more crimes.
