DC on a Sunday Night - Tourism Suggestions?

Alright I'm in Washington for a conference until Tuesday afternoon. I have to man a booth until 6 pm tomorrow (Sunday).

I looked up a ton of places to visit but just about everything closes by 5 pm. I'm going to the White House visitor's center on Tuesday morning but I can't figure out what to do tomorrow evening.

Anyone have any suggestions? I've walked around most of the memorials and large famous structures already.

You could enjoy the nightlife and walk around Dupont Circle or Adams Morgan. But now it's cold so I hope you're bundled up.

Yep...we froze our butts off looking at the monuments at night last week when I was in town (which was an awesome time, by the way).

I had the opposite problem last time I was in DC. There was a monster heat wave. It pretty much killed the afternoon as far as sightseeing goes. It didn't ruin my whole trip - I was mainly there to see a few Nationals games. But I would have liked to see more of DC itself.

Ask a hot young thing walking by for the time, then get your map out and enquire after where young people might hang out in the evenings... people can be quite friendly and informative, given the opportunity, as long as you are polite, clean-cut, and don't invade anyone's personal space...

I often get asked these sort of things going about my business, and I never mind giving ideas and directions, it's a pleasure actually... I think people kind of expect that in big tourist spots and take completely in stride...

So how did it go? What did you end up doing?
