DC Comics references in Trek Lit

Hmmm, that's.....awkward, to put it mildly.

In Voyager's "Drive" we see a ship much wider than the Delta Flyer (which supposedly shouldn't quite fit though the shittlebay doors to start with!) sat next to it inside the shuttlebay - the same shuttlebay which somehow, someway, somewhere fits Neelix's ship inside too. If Voyager can become the TARDIS for an episode or two, the Excelsior can do the same for an issue.

(and people got mad that STXI made the Enterprise big enough to actually fit everything inside:lol:)

Interesting topic, and exciting for me to see discussion revisiting DC Volume One, which I'm making my way through. At this moment, I'm reading through nothing less that the Mirror Universe Saga, and it really is quite epic. It has been nice to see the comic series explore issues the characters would be concerned about in the aftermath of The Search For Spock, at least, in a different way from how The Voyage Home does. There's this nice little tease, when Kirk enters the bridge of the mirror universe Enterprise and sits in the captain's chair; masterfully playing with expectations. They could have gone the easy route, and simply used that Enterprise between movies, but the storyline really strikes out on it's own. It only seems a little rough with dialogue, but the story is stellar.

Speaking of comic flubs in size of various ships, one that always bugged me from the moment I first saw the two-page spread, was in the issue where the Excelsior meets up with the TOS Enterprise. The two-page spread establishing shot where Enterprise first comes across Excelsior shows Excelsior to be at least three-four times the size of Enterprise. I know the Excelsior is bigger than the Big-E, but not THAT much bigger. :vulcan:
