Dayton Ward interview posted

Nick M

Jolan Tru all,

Yesterday the G and T Show was very happy to have Dayton Ward call in as discussed Star Trek Vanguard: Declassified.

We begin the Vanguard discussion about an hour in to the show, the first hour is our wrap up from the week prior of our time at the Star Trek Las Vegas convention.

To hear Dayton talk about Vanguard, Paths of Disharmony, his original novels, the character of Capt. Edward Jellico and more, go to http://www.gandtshow.com and you can listen to it there. We also have a link to iTunes for those who wish to download it.

Have a great day all!

We had a website crash, the whole thing was corrupted....I'll let you know when it's back up. I'm really sorry.

Jolan Tru,

Thanks to all who contacted me, our website is now back up, and better than ever! Still some fixes going on, but you can hear our interview with Dayton and share in our goofiness. http://www.gandtshow.com

Hope you enjoy!

Nick

Not sure if you were aware, but the MP3 of GandT #10 was a bit garbled in places. It got really bad towards the end of the show when Dayton showed up and you 3 where talking with and around each other. Volume discrepancies, and whatnot.

Figured I'd mention it if you hadn't had the time to listen to your own show.

Thanks again.

Jolan Tru,

Yeah, that is not actually the mp3, but we had a few Skype issues during the show, especially after Dayton came on. How you hear the off warble/hic when he was talking was how it was live too. It is one of those issues I think with connectivity. What did you think of the interview? I think it was pretty good with some good Vanguard background stuff and funny stories from Dayton.

In the upcoming weeks we are going to have James Swallow on, and also Larry Nemecek!

Thanks for listening, and I hope you are still enjoying.

All the best.

great podcast, each sunday really should have its own thread with topics of conversation and review. especially since you're practically forcing us to go out and buy trek novels. i'm off to get 'needs of the many' right now...one that i ordinarily would not have picked. and, by going with declassified for the last review, i was forced to pummel through 'precipice'...which was fantastic!

The content was great, and although i know that you're trying to avoid spoilers for some of the stories, some questions about specific plotlines would be great. For instance...what threads or storylines were cut from novels. Dayton mentioned the daystrom thread, but what others?

I was curious about one other thing, what character is named after you nick?

All in all its awesome, i dont have internet so only download later, and this is great traveling with while walking the dog. keep up the awesome work!

Wow,
Thank you very much! The character named after me will be in his new TOS-era novel...and I am anxious to see what manner of grizzly death I suffer as a red shirt! :guffaw:

^ Actually, there was already a character named after you, in my 2006 DS9 novel Warpath. I guess now Dayton has to explain how the dude managed to become a time-traveler.

was it one of the characters on the raid with Prynn? oh, and that's another thing...sorry to get off track...the relationship between Ruriko, Elias, and T'Prynn. There must be more that we're not seeing.

Dave,

True...maybe it's the Warpath officer's grandfather!
