Day O' Racin - this Sunday

So, for the dozen or so racing fans out there, Sunday is one of the biggest days of the year. With the Monaco GP, Indy 500 and Coke 600, there will be almost unbroken racing related programming from 7am-11pm.
What are your picks? Mine are:

F1- Lewis will break through this year. Although a BMW driver could be a spoiler. Hey, it's Monaco, where Olivier Panis shocked all by winning in a Liger!

Indycar- Marco Andretti if "the curse" can be diverted for 3 hours. He seems VERY comfortable with his set-up and he's due for another win. If Danica wins, it will be a madhouse! (she IS pretty good there, though)

NASCAR- I know it seems like I'm a lemming for this pick, but I'm going with Dale Jr. Hendrick ALWAYS runs good at home and JR is the strongest HMS driver this year. And, like Marco Andretti, he's overdue. However, it will probably be a Toyota driver, maybe Stewart.

What think you? (I won't be offended if this thread dies quick)

I can't say who will win the F1 race but for the others:

Indy - Danica (She has shown she can win, and I really want to see it. It will probably be Dixon though).

Coke 600 - Jimmie Johnson (There is no driver that owns Lowes Moter Speedway more than Jimmie. I think he will be back on top this year).

I'm not at all into auto racing but I do like watching the Indy 500. It's the only NASCAR race I'll watch all year. I used to watch it every year as a kid and I guess it just stuck.

The Indy 500 is not a NA$CAR sanctioned race, in the 70's it was a USAC sanctioned race.
The Coca Cola 600 was called the World 600 until corpirate sponsors came in.
I still watch some of the 500, and will probably watch all of the 600.

A brilliant wet/dry Monaco GP!:) If only we could get rain every year in Monte Carlo.;)

An amazing drive by Hamilton, indeed, worthy of Senna or Schumacher.
But poor Adrian Sutil, heading for an unbelievable 4th place in the Force India when he is rammed up the arse by Kimi Raikkonen's out-of-control Ferarri.:(

Hopefully we will see another British winner at the Indy 500!:techman:

Indy - Danica (She has shown she can win, and I really want to see it. It will probably be Dixon though).

I felt bad for Patrick, getting clipped like that coming out of the pit stop. She had every right to be pissed and start marching down the pit lane for a "chat" with Briscoe.

Not a great day for Michael Andretti's cars.

Well, not a bad day. Got one of my three picks (Lewis at Monaco).
At least Kyle Busch didn't win the 600. Kasey was extremely overdue and he came out of nowhere. It was one of the fastest 600s I can remember, too.
The Indy 500 wasn't bad, either. Too bad for Danica (I had been thinking about cars pulling way out into the fast lane upon leaving their pits just before Briscoe hit her - boneheaded move) Never been a big Sarah Fisher fan but really felt bad for her today. AGR has deep pockets, maybe they can help her team go to Kentucky. Loved that the last segment went green all the way - the way a race like this should end. Was pulling for Marco but he just didn't have time.
Monaco was easily the best race of the day. The rain and unpredictable conditions made for a thrilling race. Sutil and Force India showed their potential today. I sure hope this helps them with sponsors. Lewis is pretty good and I'm a big fan, but McLaren were smart to see what the others did about tires first. Schumi would have come in for dries before anyone else and made them work even in wet sectors. Lewis can't do that yet.
Hopefully, Monaco will continue to fall on Memorial Day Sunday from now on. Only 364 days to the next Day O' Racin!
