Dax, Reporting For Duty

Imagine you could have the choice of having any of the previous Dax Hosts serving onboard your ship/station, which one would you choose?

Granted, for most we don't know very much, but we have been offered up a little information (as well as brief appearance) for all of them throughout the series, so just which one (only one) would you want to have by your side?#

The choices are:
First Officer Lela Dax (she was the first woman to sit on the Trill Ruling Council after all)
Chief Engineer Tobin Dax (he is a master sub-impulse thrusters and phase-coil invertors, whatever they are)
Security Chief Emony Dax (her gymnastics ability would make her flexible for a fight)
First Officer Audrid Dax (she headed up the Symbiosis Commission, so I suspect she'd manage being an XO)
Helmsman Torias Dax (though he may have a worse reputation than Troi as a pilot)
Security Chief Joran Dax (definitely not a man you'd want to be on the wrong side of, given his murderous nature)
Diplomatic Officer Curzon Dax (though I suspect he'd cause more 'diplomatic incidents' than he'd resolve)
Science Officer Jadzia Dax
Counsellor Ezri Dax

I dithered between Jadzia and Ezri. And voted for Curzon in the end, because of his diplomatic abilities.

In the end I had to roll an eight sided die between Ezri, Jadzia, Curzon, and Tobin with 1 and 2 being Ezri, 3 and 4 Jadzia, 5 and 6 Curzon, and 7 and 8 Tobin. And rolled a 2

Lela and Audrid are great civilian leaders but I'm not sure that would translate into great Starfleet officers or Starship XOs. Torias' flying record speaks for itself. I don't feel that being a gymnast makes one automatically a good fighter and I try to keep at least half a light year between my ship and any insane and murderous people.

Of course, that's why I chose him. Curzon is Star Trek's version of "the Most interesting man in the universe".

I have to admit, we know next to nothing about most of the Dax hosts, aside from the stories in Lives of Dax. So the results are not surprising.
