I could almost cry. Hubby thought about going, so MONTHS ago, we tried to get tickets and it was already sold out.

RATS!!!!!!

And now this announcement.

:sigh:

Doctor Who star David Tennant will appear alongside writer/executive producer Russell T. Davies at this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego, BBC America announced. They will take part in a Doctor Who panel, along with executive producer Julie Gardner and director Euros Lyn, July 26 at 10 a.m. PT.

Anyone here going this year?

that should draw a big crowd, Moff would be nice, as RTDs & Tennant are the more or less the past now, Moff & Smith should be there as well.

I'm certainly not going. Too far away for me on my budget. :(

Have I ever told the story how a couple of friends/acquaintances of mine wanted to go see David Tennant as Hamlet in Stratford-upon-Avon? They asked me to come along but I declined because I already had planned a vacation for that year. I did the responsible thing.
They went, it was awesome, responsibility sucks.

I thought the same thing. Now I'm excited. :)

(Although if there really will be a Doctor Who movie it's very unlikely to open here in my part of the world... so no Doctor Who on the big screen for me... :()

You know, until now I didn't even think of that. Now I'm depressed. :(

Oh no, I'm sorry. :(
Let's book a flight to jolly old England then. I know a couple of Who fans here (some of whom I converted myself :D), so maybe we should lobby for a private screening? ;)

^ I'm in!
I'm not missing out on Tennant again, no siree! Even if it's only in 2D. Huge, enormous, larger-than-life 2D!

Whatever happened to the days when SDCC was about comics...?
by that logic should he really be there, sure Doctor Who has comics, but it is for the most part a TV franchise
You're kind of making my point. SDCC has become less about comics and more about Hollywood over the last decade, to the point where comics are really crowded out by the studios and some publishers don't feel that it's worth it to them to have a presence at SDCC.
